Are we bringing up children or pressure cookers?

A bell rings at 5:30 am in morning, a man enters in house and they start studying. They continue studying till 6:30 am and then he gets ready to go school because in another half an hour the school bus would be at his door steps. He rushes and eats breakfast swiftly and boards on the bus.He then spends 5 hours at school and return back at 1 pm, changes his school dress and just after lunch leaves again for tuition and returns at 6 p.m. with heavy workload of school work + tution work.So without resting he start with school work and ends up with tution work. In the meantime, parents instructs him several time to study well and do his best to secure first rank in the class so that they could stand high in society. They never leave chance to make him realize how costly education has become these days and he is fortunate enough to get such sacrificing parents. The child sleeps silently at 11 p.m. if not too late just to wake up on time the next day.

This is a life style of a child of just 10 years, is he a child or machine? well some would say this is 21st century and to be in the race one needs to be smart enough to do multiple things at a time and be the first. Unfortunately, everybody couldn't be at number one. Each one has its own limitation as well as excellence field. If a child isn't good at academics that doesn't mean he is of no good. Possibly he might be good at other activities one just need to explore that potential.

Unfortunately, This isn't case with most of the parents and they just want their child to be the best and in this rat race they are killing their childhood . People use to be successful in past as well when there was no such stick behind them. What was the reason? the reason wasn't endless cramming but they had interest in their studies. They weren't forced to study or to sing or to dance, they themselve chose it . They just did what they loved to and excelled. History is full of such examples  Thomos Edison, Albert Einstein, Graham Bell  just to name a few.

The question arises how to create interest in education amongst children. The most promising solution is by Making Education Student Friendly and to do so concrete steps should be taken by impelmeting innovative ways of teaching by going beyond four walls. A child loves to play and if we get successful in blending education with games it will become a fun to learn process and children will enjoy studying and would do best in their life.Lets not make their life a pressure cooker.

Together, lets create more smiles
